A friend recommended this kindle recipe book. Not only did it have loads of great recipes, but I love the kindle format. It's easy to quickly locate the recipes and you can make notes on each one.This one is definitely worth the small price.

Unfortunately, the picture on the cover is of a Holstein cow. This breed of animal primarily produces milk. Beef cattle usually make the best hamburger. True, Holstein cattle can be used to make hamburger, but if you are searching for the best, you would use a beef animal such as an Angus, Hereford, or Charolais. I am sure it does not affect the recipes in the book, as some editor probably chose the picture. Just because it is a "cow"--doesn't mean hamburger. Also, to educate people, it may be a cow, bull, steer, heifer, etc.
I am the oldest of three girls from an "average" American family. Now that I think back on our family dinners, Mom must have had a heck of a time pleasing my "meat and potatoes, damnit" Dad and at least one little girl who wouldn't eat "her animal friends". How'd she do it? Hamburger casseroles! The meat was there for Dad and our mini-veggie could pick eat around it.
So, when I saw this collection, I just had to have it! To this day hamburger casserole is my comfort food and these really ARE the best recipes. They are easy to make, thrifty and delicious! You could even recruit your mini's to help with cooking dinner.
I recommend that you try these and I'd love to tell your more about it, but I am craving Hamburger Casserole! Happy cooking!
Wow, I've certainly learned a lot about cows from reading the reviews of this e-book! Though instead of pondering the subtleties of the bovine world, I would rather be eating them. Preferably, ground up in a hamburger casserole. Heck, with these delicious down-home recipes, the hamburger could be ground from any sort of animal. Cows, pigs, emus, yak--you name it!
I simply loaded this kitchen tome in the app on my iPad, propped it up on the counter and commenced to cooking for my family of four. I've only tried a couple of recipes so far, but they were just like mom used to make. Only better because now I realize she cooked the dang milking cows and milked the dang cooking cows. Anyway, this is a delightful little inexpensive recipe book for anyone who's a Southern cook or who just wants to cook Southern style.
And unlike all those politically correct cookbooks, with "Best Hamburger Casserole Recipes" there are NO sacred cows!
I made the mistake of reading this collection way past the time I should have been actually *making* dinner - now it's 1100 and I find myself wanting to make Microwave Beef Stroganoff, or a 7 Layer Casserole. And there's more tasty sounding recipes like Lasagna Roll-Ups or Hamburger Casserole with Potatoes. What to make...what to make... Well worth the purchase price!
